Is there a better and easier way for a traveler to experience the isolated coastline of Southeast Alaska? We do not believe so. The cruise lines call Alaska – Natures amazing Showcase – and indeed it is.

1. Day Seattle:
Time for some sightseeing before departure. Pike Place, the oldest continually operating farmer's market in the country, and the home of "those fish-throwing guys." The south end of the market houses the edibles, including the fish stalls, the original Starbucks, fresh meats, and fruit and vegetables. The north end is filled with artists' wares and freshly-cut flowers. Experience Music Project This interactive museum/exhibit space/gallery is housed in a spectacular Frank Gehry building near the Science Center, and offers hands-on music creation in a state-of-the-art studio, among other things. Space Needle This indelible landmark allows you to soar in seconds to the Observation Deck 502 feet above the ground. There's a 360-degree view of Seattle, the mountains, the ferries, Puget Sound and the islands, Lake Washington--and if you can't see it all with the naked eye, don't worry. Complimentary telescopes are part of the package. Departure 16:00

2. Day At Sea:
All it takes to get the inside story of Alaska's beauty is a trip through the Inside Passage, Alaska's "water highway", where majestic fjords compete for your attention with mountain masterpieces carved by the glaciers. Small fishing villages along the coast dot breathtaking panoramas and the protected waters are perfect for spotting marine mammals and other wildlife.

3. Day
Ketchikan:
Ketchikan was built along a steep hillside, with sections of the town built right over the water on pilings. The scenic rustic boardwalks on Creek Street preserves a distinct historic feel. Look along the water line and you're likely to see many bald eagles on waterside perches. An outstanding collection of majestic totem poles within the Saxman Village make a visit to Ketchikan essential for anyone interested in Native art. The towns nickname - Salmon Capital of the World – was already established in 1936 when seven canneries produced 1.5 Mio cases of salmon. The abundance of salmon continues to provide outstanding sportfishing opportunities for visitors in Southeast Alaska. Arrival 07:00 / Departure 21:00

4. Day
Juneau:
Established as a gold camp and now Alaska's capital city is the third largest city within the state. Juneau is full of contrasts, a sophisticated cosmopolitan city in the heart of the lush green Tongass National Forest. Nestled at the base of towering mountains dominated by the 1500 square mile Juneau Icefield and overlooking the Gastineau Channel, the community's rich culture and history is displayed throughout the town. Arrival 07:00 / Departure 14:00

Cruise Sawyer Glacier: Until you find yourself bobbing in icy water with icebergs floating all around and you can make out the slight rise of the glacier as it winds its way back into the mountains, only then can you realize how monstrous and large glaciers really are. Sawyer Glacier has carved an intensely deep chasm in the Tracy Arm, with the depths of the water matching the rising cliffs of the surrounding ridges. The blue-white ice continues to break off as the glacier retreats, providing resting places for seals as they try to escape orcas and other predators in the water.

5. Day
Skagway:
As you approach Skagway, you'll see the town resting peacefully at the base of a river valley bordered by the Coast Mountain Range. The mountains, ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 feet in height, seem to rise straight up from the saltwater fjord. Once on land, the streets of Skagway draw you back to 1898 when this idyllic native fishing village and nearby Deya had a population of about 20.000 during the most fanatic Gold Rush in history. Today, wooden sidewalks, old-fashioned saloons, quaint gift shops and horse-drawn carriages serve as reminders of the famous Alaskan Gold Rush days.  Don’t miss am adventurous trip with the historic White Pass Yukon Railroad – completed in 1890 with the driving of a golden spike in Carcross/Yukon. The narrow gauge railroad climbs about 3000 ft within just 20 Miles. Arrival 07:00 / Departure 17:00

6. Day
Prince Rupert, BC:
Cow Bay is just a 10-minute walk from the cruise dock. The story is this: When dairy cattle were brought to the region in 1906, there were no docks built, so the cows had to swim ashore. What had been Cameron Cove became known as Cow Bay, and this waterfront area is now a fun shopping district with historic buildings and unique architecture. Many of the shops and restaurants are built on pilings right on the water. The Museum of Northern British Columbia features several exhibits that celebrate the area and the Haida, Tsimishian, Tlingit, and Nisga'a cultures. The First Nations Carving Shed located just a block from the Museum of Northern British Columbia, features artists and carvers of the region. Watch as they create everything from sculpture and totems to jewelry, working with silver, copper, cedarwood, and gold; you can purchase items from these individual artists as well. Accessible by water only, the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary is the only grizzly bear sanctuary in Canada, and provides a unique opportunity to get "up close and personal" with the bears (you must go out with a guide). Several of the cruise ships calling at Prince Rupert offer this as one of their excursions. Whale Watching Tours are a major draw here because the Prince Rupert area is home to the largest concentration of humpbacked whales in North America. But that's not all you'll see on these tours. If you visit earlier in the season (May to July), it's likely that your excursions will find several pods of orcas, and at any time you are likely to see eagles, dolphins, sea lions, and other marine life in close proximity. Arrival 17:00 / Departure 22:00

7. Day
Inside Passage Cruising:
After four destination days in a row it may be nice to have a break. But an Inside Passage day at sea is hardly the same as one on an ocean there's too much yet to see! You will pass glorious British Columbia scenery with snow-capped mountains, forests, beaches and small isolated towns. Look out for killer whales, porpoises, bald eagles and enjoy a leisurely cruise back to Vancouver.

8. Day Seattle:
Your cruise up the 1,000-mile Inside Passage with great glacier-gouged fjords, quiet bays and waterfalls cascading from sheer granite cliffs comes to an end. You may extend your vacation to visit the Canadian Rocky Mountain National Parks, the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver or Vancouver Island. Arrival Seattle 07:00
