Amsterdam Features:
Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, the flagship sets the standard for our fleet of five-star cruise ships. As the third ship bearing the name of the Dutch capital in the line's more than 130-year history, the ms Amsterdam blends the very latest in shipbuilding technology with the artistry, personalized touches, and superior service that has made Holland America Line one of the highest-rated cruise lines in the world. Traveling aboard her is world-class cruising at its finest.

At the heart of the MS Amsterdam is the Planeto Astrolabium, a specially commissioned signature sculpture suspended and soaring in a three-story atrium. The stunning Astrolabe tracks constellations, the planets, world time and ship time. Dutch heritage and tradition aboard the ms Amsterdam is clearly displayed in original Art Deco pieces that once graced the Nieuw Amsterdam of 1938. For a contemporary touch, works of the noted maritime artist Stephen Card adorn public spaces. Introduction:
Spectacular glaciers, historic ports and picture perfect sceneries, a private deluxe stateroom with a balcony, personalized onboard services and world-class sightseeing opportunities along the famous Inside Passage, the Gulf of Alaska and the heart of Americas’s Last Frontier are the primary attractions during your Alaska Cruise. Is there a better and easier way for a traveler to experience the isolated coastline of Southeast Alaska? We do not believe so. The cruise lines call Alaska – Natures amazing Showcase – and indeed it is.

1. Day Seattle:
Fronting on Puget Sound, with snow-covered mountains to the east and west, scenic Seattle is known as one of America's most liveable cities. The regional economy is booming with high tech industry, and international trade. Seattle made its place on the world map as the staging ground for the 1897-8 Klondike Gold Rush. With Puget Sound on the west and Lake Washington on the east, the Seattle area has more boats per capita than any other place in the US. It has some of the best shopping, coffee, views, theater, and places to ride a bicycle. Visit Seattle's birthplace, historic Pioneer Square, originally settled in 1852. Departure 16:00

2. Day At Sea:
All it takes to get the inside story of Alaska's beauty is a trip through the Inside Passage, Alaska's "water highway", where majestic fjords compete for your attention with mountain masterpieces carved by the glaciers. Small fishing villages along the coast dot breathtaking panoramas and the protected waters are perfect for spotting marine mammals and other wildlife.

3. Day Juneau:
Established as a gold camp and now Alaska's capital city is the third largest city within the state. Juneau is full of contrasts, a sophisticated cosmopolitan city in the heart of the lush green Tongass National Forest. Nestled at the base of towering mountains dominated by the 1500 square mile Juneau Icefield and overlooking the Gastineau Channel, the community's rich culture and history is displayed throughout the town. Arrival 11:00 / Departure 22:30

4. Day Frederick Sound Cruising & Tracy Arm Cruising:
This narrow fjord twists and turns for over 30 miles, culminating in a spectacular view of the twin tidewater Sawyer Glaciers. Your captain will navigate as close as the ice floe allows, stopping for an extended stay at the face of the glacier. Watch for seals relaxing on the icebergs, bald eagles soaring above the cliffs and many other animals that call this area home. Learn about the natural history of the fjord, its glaciers and the wildlife from our onboard naturalist. Gain insights into Tlingit Native culture. Overcast days will not dampen your enjoyment as clouds and mist only heighten the drama of the fjord and intensify the glacial blue color. Frederick Sound is one of the best places in the world to observe the feeding behaviour of humpback whales and in particular, their spectacular cooperative bubble net feeding that can involve twenty whales or more. This bountiful body of water also supports an abundance of other marine mammals such as orcas, Dall's porpoises, harbour porpoises, Steller sea lions and harbour seals. There will be opportunities to observe salmon swimming upstream and the animals that they attract, such as bears and bald eagles

5. Day Sitka:
Bald eagles perch in the spruce and cedar trees of Sitka—often several to a branch. Russian Alaska is enthusiastically represented in a lively performance by the New Archangel Dancers. View holy paintings of the Czarist days, visit recuperating eagles at the rehabilitation center and hear the amazing story of the Cathedral fire and Sitka's mad flurry to save the church's icons and religious treasures.
Arrival 08:00 / Departure 17:00

6. Day Ketchikan:
Ketchikan was built along a steep hillside, with sections of the town built right over the water on pilings. The scenic rustic boardwalks on Creek Street preserves a distinct historic feel. Look along the water line and you're likely to see many bald eagles on waterside perches. An outstanding collection of majestic totem poles within the Saxman Village make a visit to Ketchikan essential for anyone interested in Native art. The towns nickname - Salmon Capital of the World – was already established in 1936 when seven canneries produced 1.5 Mio cases of salmon. The abundance of salmon continues to provide outstanding sportfishing opportunities for visitors in Southeast Alaska. Arrival 07:00 / Departure 13:00

7. Day Victoria:
The city of gardens, Victoria is British Columbia's provincial capital and certainly its most beautiful city. Endowed with a mild climate, this picturesque, English-flavored town epitomizes the grace and charm of the Victorian era. You may explore Victoria on your own or join an optional tour to the world-famous Butchart Gardens - 55 acres of lavishly landscaped limestone quarry that were first developed in 1904 and now represent one of the finest examples of horticulture in the world. This afternoon, you may walk through the Royal British Columbia Museum. The exhibits take you back through 12,000 years of the area's history, with dioramas depicting both native villages and explorers' rough-hewn towns. Arrival 18:00 / Departure 23:30

8. Day Seattle:
Extend your cruise with a individual or escorted Seattle sightseeing tour, an additional overnight or a trip to the famous Pacific Northwest Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Parks. Please Inquire. Arrival 07:00
